Psalm 89:5-8 The heavens praise your wonders, Lord, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
Revelation 5:12-14 Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
Worship: to give/ascribe worth to
What do YOU give worth to? What do you worship?
Worship is a Choice
The church was never supposed to be a location, but a PEOPLE. It was never meant to be a "Sunday service", but an everyday walking with God.
“If you do not worship Jesus 7 days a week, you do not worship Him on one day a week” - AW Tozer
“Every posture in worship says something of both the worshipper and the One being gloried in. The raising of hands tells of a soul stretched out hight in praise and the worth of the One being exalted. Joyful dancing interprets a grateful heart and points in adoration to the source of that joy. When it comes to expressing our worship, what we do on the outside is. Key reflection of what’s taking place on the inside. Out of the overflow of our hearts, we speak and sing, we dance, and we bow. As God reveals, we respond.” -Matt Redman, Facedown
Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
Worship is meant to be a place to draw near to Him. You can't do that when you're hiding from Him.
Is my worship about ME, or is it about Him?
I will take 30 minutes this week to worship in a posture I haven't recently.
I will read the Psalms this week to set my heart up to worship.
I will talk to my discipler about things in my life that are currently hindering my worship.
