Seriously, our hope is in Jesus.
The bible is FULL of verses telling us to live out our values.
Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
We have a responsibility as the church to live out what we see in the Bible. Not to live out being a Democrat, or a Republican but to live out being a follower of Jesus!
1 Samuel 13:14
The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people.
Exodus 3:9-10
And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
The Bible still commands that we submit to leadership
1 Peter 2:13-17
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.
Proverbs 11:14
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
What does it look like as a Christian to vote on policy?
John 14:15
If you love me, keep my commands.
When Christians vote our opinions should not be at the forefront of our minds, our Biblical convictions should be.
We need to be a people who:
- Pick our political party based on how
the party lines up with our beliefs
(which are rooted in scripture)
- We don’t need to pick our beliefs
based on what our party believes.

If you don’t know God’s opinion on a topic, it’s next to impossible to have a Godly opinion yourself on it.
