Teacher: Dakoda Neace Series: Romans Scripture: Romans 9

Paul starts off this chapter by expressing deep grief knowing that so many of his fellow Jews don’t know Jesus (v1-3) - so much so that he wishes he could trade places with them so that they could know Jesus (v3). He then spends most of the chapter illustrating the incredible patience and mercy of God in walking with the Jewish people through their whole history (v4-29). He comes to his conclusion by asking how then the Gentiles essentially stumbled into righteousness while the Jews missed it (v30-31), explaining that it’s because Jews have historically pursued God through works instead of faith (v32-33).
