What is Church?

CHURCH ON MISSION

Living Faith on mission has its focus on lost continents, lost countries, lost states, lost cities, lost villages, lost communities, and lost individuals.

The absolute greatest problem in the world today is lostness.  And the only solution for lostness is the Gospel. That identifies that Living Faith on mission commits to take the solution to the problem. The Gospel to lostness.

The act of taking the Gospel to the lost, or the act of the Living Faith on mission is called mobilization. Literally Living Faith on Mission is a Mobilized church. What does that look like?

Prayer and direction were non-negotiable.
The need was identified, and a location was identified.
The vision was cast.
Families or individuals were mobilized.
A church is planted, re-planted, or re-vitalized.

Maybe the most important point is that the process repeats itself.
59% of the world is considered unreached. That does not mean that the unreached have never heard of Jesus but that does mean that there is no form of self-sustaining, self-propagating Christian church movement. Living Faith on Mission with God looks at that number and says that is unacceptable.

So, you are saying Irvington is unreached? No, I’m not saying that. I’m saying there are giant areas that are unengaged and many, many areas that are unreached.   Well, how about those countries where it is illegal to preach the Gospel shouldn’t we go there? Yes, we absolutely should go there. But if you don’t care about the guy that just was identified by your rock then you won’t care about the guy in a nation where it is illegal to preach the Gospel.

Living Faith on mission is anxious to do ministry. I didn’t say anxious to do missions, but anxious to do ministry. What does that look like? Easy. The ministry of Living Faith Church catapults us into missions.

Romans 15:14-21

Personally, I’ve been completely satisfied with who you are and what you are doing. You seem to me to be well-motivated and well-instructed, quite capable of guiding and advising one another. So, my dear friends, don’t take my rather bold and blunt language as criticism. It’s not criticism. I’m simply underlining how very much I need your help in carrying out this highly focused assignment God gave me, this priestly and gospel work of serving the spiritual needs of the non-Jewish outsiders so they can be presented as an acceptable offering to God, made whole and holy by God’s Holy Spirit. Looking back over what has been accomplished and what I have observed, I must say I am most pleased—in the context of Jesus, I’d even say proud, but only in that context. I have no interest in giving you a chatty account of my adventures, only the wondrously powerful and transformingly present words and deeds of Christ in me that triggered a believing response among the outsiders. In such ways I have trail-blazed a preaching of the Message of Jesus all the way from Jerusalem far into northwestern Greece. This has all been pioneer work, bringing the Message only into those places where Jesus was not yet known and worshiped. My text has been,

Those who were never told of him they’ll see him!
Those who’ve never heard of him they’ll get the message!

Simply said, here is my counsel for Living Faith Church as we are on mission with God. Let’s prioritize taking the Gospel or mobilizing others to take the Gospel to those who were never told of him.

Be clear about the Gospel.

Be completely committed to Living Faith.

Pray without ceasing.

Missions has no expiration date.

Living Faith Church on Mission with God will never lack for anything necessary to see God’s Word proclaimed.

Connection Card

  1. This week I will begin to ask God exactly where my mission field is.
  2. I make a commitment today to obey God as he reveals my mission field. I Samuel 15:22 obedience is better than sacrifice.
  3. I am “All In” with Living Faith Church, to be On Mission with God.
