CORONA CHRISTMAS

SUN

A corona is an aura of plasma that surrounds the Sun.  It’s the outermost part of the Sun's atmosphere that reaches out into the abyss of space around it, and it actually goes 5 million miles out from the sun in every direction.  During a solar eclipse, you can perfectly see the corona.

A solar eclipse is what happens when the sun, earth, and moon all line up perfectly, the sun passes directly behind our moon, and the moon covers the sun.

Image of the Invisible by Thrice:

“We're more than carbon and chemicals
We are the image of the invisible
Free will is ours and we can't let go
We are the image of the invisible

We're more than static and dial tone
We are the image of the invisible
We're emblematic of the unknown
We are the image of the invisible”

We are broken and distorted images of the invisible.  So, just like we talked about how we need a perfect King, we are in need of a perfect image of the invisible God.

Colossians 1:15-20
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Jesus coming on Christmas, was God’s way of showing you part of his character that you couldn’t see before.  He came to reconcile you to himself by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT HE IS ETERNAL

John 1:3
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT GOD IS ALL-POWERFUL

Matthew 28:18
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT GOD IS ALL-KNOWING

Colossians 2:3
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT GOD IS PRESENT EVERYWHERE

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT GOD IS UNCHANGING

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

THROUGH JESUS, WE SEE THAT GOD IS HOLY AND RIGHEOUS

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

In all of these things, we finally SEE the perfection of God in the person of Jesus Christ

John 5:19
Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

Hebrews 1:3
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
