Jeremiah 33:3
3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

How do I submit to my husband and follow his leadership when I know where he's leading (or lacking to lead) us is not the right direction?

Let’s assume for the sake of answering this question today that your husband is not leading you into sin, and this is not an abusive situation. So with that laid down, how do you submit to his leadership when you can see he’s not leading the right way?

Ephesians 5:21-33
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Mutual submission creates partnership!

So what do you do if he’s not leading well?

(1) Pray Hard.
(2) Be a good partner
(3) Be vulnerable with your community.
(4) HUMBLY talk to him about it
(5) Seek wise counsel together
—marriage counseling is NOT a bad thing!!

1 Peter 3:1
“Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.”

Does your behavior around your husband draw him to Jesus? Or does it push him away?

(1) It doesn’t matter what I think…it matters how I pray.
(2) being pushy doesn’t help
(3) dropping “hints” doesn’t help
(4) He is more than capable of hearing God and obeying!
