Us Receiving Jesus
John 10:9-11
When you were a kid, did you ever open a present that you didn't really want, but you came to find out you really needed it?
The Christian Representation
- How is Christ and Christianity represented in our world today? Dull, Boring, Hypocritical, No Fun, Crazy, Liars?
- Our world is full of struggles like: Anxiety, Weakness, Their worlds collapsing, Lonely, Sadness, Anger.
- Christ is far from those things: He is hope, strength, fortress, best friend, joy, peace.
John 10:9-11
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
The Gift That You Need
Jesus most likely is not the gift that you would want, most of the Jewish people felt the same way and they were and still are looking for th eir Savior, even though He already came.
Gordon: "He's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector."
We love to praise the hero who deflects praise, but openly reject really the only one who deserves it.
"From the first time, that you opened your eyes, did you realize that you would be my Savior? And from the first breath that left your lips, did you know that I would change this world forever? And I, I celebrate the day, that you were born to die, so I could one day pray for you to save my life."
