PRAYER

Prayer is communication with God.

Communication (BIG word)

  • The imparting or exchanging of information or news
  • Conveying or sharing ideas and feelings
  • Transmission (synonym of communication)

Luke 11:1-4 (NLT)
1 Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
2 Jesus said, “This is how you should pray
“Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.
3 Give us each day the food we need,
4 and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation.

  • Prayer was so key to the ministry of Jesus
  • We see Him connecting with the Father at every turn
  • He specifically taught us how to pray and gave us the principles or key to know how to communicate with Him.

Luke 11:5-13

Jesus knocks at the doors of our hearts
God’s ears are always open, He doesn’t sleep and somethings in your life He may be ready to do for you He’s just waiting for you to want it bad enough to ask and seek Him for it. But more than anything that He can give for us just to want Him…just talk and or be with Him

Psalm 139:17-18
17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up, you are still with me!

More than the grains of sand are Gods thoughts towards us because He Loves us.

Jesus prayer over us John 17:13-26
