Teacher: Autumn Wall Series: The Partying God Scripture: Acts 2:46 & John 2:1-11

Jesus is the Life of the Party
Time and time again in the Bible, we see that God really just wants to bless his children and give them good things. He's not a harsh dictator like some think he is, he is a partier!
Our God is a loving father and he loves to party with his children!
Nothing breaks down walls like inviting someone into your home for a meal.
Acts 2:46
Everyday they met together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.
Parties gather people, build relationships, and create family.
Luke 19:8
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.
No one prompts Zacchaeus to change his life. He just experiences Jesus in the casual context of friendship through this house party and everything changes from the inside out.
John 2:1-11
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
Jesus doesn’t invite us to a stale life, it’s a party. And when we follow Him wholeheartedly, we get to experience not just the party, but the LIFE of the party—JESUS.
